power in numbers

Power in numbers is more than a phrase. It's Safety. Motivation. Accountability. Companionship. Support. Running, and being active in general, provides many physical benefits. This we all know. But it also provides mental clarity and wellness that you may not realize if you haven't tried running before. And doing it within a group training environment makes for an extremely safe, supportive and rewarding experience not just physically, but mentally and socially too.

Why We RUN. Or Walk. Or Wheel. Whatever it takes.

We all move actively for different reasons. Some of us need the accountability to our goals and life style changes. Some of us enjoy the competition, using it as motivation to be our personal best. Some of us do it simply for fun. Some of us want to make fitness and health a priority. We all need the safety in numbers that training with a group provides, as well as the support of those who understand the unique challenges and rewards of running and walking. Some of us would like to meet a partner with similar interests and lifestyles that accompany the desire to be healthy and have fun doing it. And many of us run in honor of a loved one.

How We Train

Our members benefit from our RRCA Certified Coaches and Experienced Mentors, all unpaid volunteers, who offer coaching for runners and walkers wanting to do events ranging from 5K's all the way up to FULL Marathons. We have weekly communication support, online forum communication, written daily training calendars, seminars on nutrition, injury prevention (we help you build your endurance slowly, we want you to stay healthy!) and safety, two organized weekly group runs, aid stations for long runs, fun new friends and let's not forget your cool technical training shirt! Choose your community below to meet our team of Coaches and Mentors, and find the best one for your running goals.

What is RRCA Certification?

RRCA Certified Coaches volunteer with their local running clubs, coach clients one-on-one, and coach training programs for groups of runners working towards a common goal such, as completing a 5k, half marathon, or marathon. They work with runners and emphasize the use of intelligent training plans that are based on a scientific body of knowledge and designed to help a runner achieve their goals, while minimizing the risks of injuries. To be RRCA Certified, our running club and coaches must meet a stringent criteria. To learn more, click on the RRCA logo.

Finding Your Group

Don't worry about finding your niche...it will come! Just walk or run and we will do the rest of getting you fitted in to the group where you feel the most comfortable with your physical abilities and what your reasonable goals are that you want to achieve. You will naturally gravitate to the right group everyone will be assigned to a coach.

Preparing to Train

We know it's challenging getting started...finding the time for yourself, balancing work, family and running, tired feet and legs and leaving a warm bed on a cold morning. It's very important to be advised that before starting any physical endeavors or strenuous exercise programs, we strongly encourage you to consult with and receive medical clearance from your personal doctor. Only your doctor can answer specific questions you may have regarding physical activity and whether you should participate in certain physical exercise programs. We can’t answer questions or recommend your participation in physical activities - only a qualified medical doctor can.

Our training levels includes movement from the couch to 5K, Half marathon to a full marathon training.
