A message from mike Mason, President co-founder Moves Group
Moves Training, a non profit 5013c organization, was born from a need to get our community healthy and "moving". My wife and co-founder, Leanne Mason employed at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, works for one of the best employers in the Nation. They provide opportunities for their employees to volunteer and become engaged in their community towards an active lifestyle. Doctors Medical Center, Carin Von Latta Sarkis contacted us to provide to their employees a training walk/run program (part of their DMC Fit Program) and offer it up as well to the community. In addition, Calvin Lee from Surgical Artistry of Modesto wanted to bring wellness into the local community as well. Calvin was the first major sponsor to believe in the Modesto Marathon and was the major sponsor for several years. These two dynamic duo's have provided a clear mission to health and wellness and provided our Move's main purpose in the community. We MOVE to get healthy and at the same time we can give back to our local communities. But we can only do this through our values of diversity and inclusion making our trainees feel inclusive in our training groups.
By volunteering and joining forces with partners such as Doctors Medical Center, Surgical Artistry of Modesto, and Doctors Hospital of Manteca we can make produce change and have a positive impact right here in our communities. It's important to have support and work together towards a healthy lifestyle. Holding each other accountable for our goals is proven to equal greater success. People tend to think of running/walking as an individual thing, and to some extent, it is, but it's more than that. With a group, it is not only motivational towards your own personal best but it expands your social circle too. By training with us, helping yourself is also helping others. It's a win-win.

Being healthy and fit = better quality and longevity of life. We strive to provide an active lifestyle for our members by training together for a local half-marathon or full marathon, a partnership that will keep our community moving. We promote nutritional education and injury prevention. Our focus is at risk individuals in our community in terms of living a healthy living active lifestyle. We invite you to learn more about the work we do both for and in support of you, your community and other charities that also support overall health and wellness. In partnership with other non-profit organizations/businesses with similar missions, values and objectives, it's our constant goal to enrich the lives of everyone in our communities. That's what moves us. Let's train together today!
